Tigers Host New MSHSAA Soccer Jamboree
Updated on 06/10/2022
The Missouri State High School Activities Association for the first time this year allowed high school soccer teams to host pre-season Jamborees. The Waynesville Tigers were among the first teams to do so on August 22, when Washington and Rolla joined for the scrimmages. Each school played the others for 35 minute periods. Waynesville opened with a four-goal shutout performance against Washington. The Bluejays then shutout Rolla 1-0 before Rolla edged the Tigers 2-1. Shane Jewett and Tremayne Watterson scored twice for the Tigers with Jewett adding an assist in his performance. Hunter Ball scored the Tigers' fifth goal on an assist from Chase Holden. The Tiger defense allowed Washington to cross midfield only four times in their competition.
