Boys 8th Grade Football vs. Rolla HS/Jr High

Tigers Win: 20 - 0
Waynesville’s 8th grade football team took on the Rolla Bulldogs at home and came out victorious by a score of 20-0. AJ Martin Led the Tigers with 2 rushing TDs and John Eley had one. Defensively , the Tigers were everywhere. The Defensive line, Johannes Momoh, Jared Hyatt, Chris Bancroft, and Joey Linkous proved to be too much for the Bulldog’s offensive linemen. Calvin Phillips had an interception at his cornerback position and Shawn Sumter had an interception to end all of the Bulldogs chances to score late in the game. The Tigers end the season with a 5-1 record. A big thank you goes out to all of the community members who came out and supported these young student athletes throughout the year.
Waynesville’s 8th Grade B team finished their season with a victory over the Bulldogs by a score of 28-20. Jayleen Jackson led the offense with 3 rushing TDs. Defensively, the Tigers were led by Major Shue and Jonathan Banner. This team got better each game and their heart and determination witnessed in the final game exemplified this statement! Great job on a job well done!

Tigers Win: 54 - 14
The 8th Grade Football team won their home opener 54-14 and this makes them 3-0 for the season. S. Sumter returned a kickoff for a touchdown and J. Eley returned a punt for a touchdown. On defense, J. Momoh, C. Bancroft, J. Hyatt, and J. Linkous recked havoc on Smith Cotton's offense all night. K. Smith had two passing touchdowns both of which were to C. Phillips. A. Martin and K. Toran once again showcased their skills on the ground running behind their tenacious offensive linemen. Unfortunately the scheduled B game was cancelled. The Tigers are back on the road next Thursday traveling to Lebanon.

Tigers Lose: 6 - 44
Waynesville's 8th grade B team had their first game of the season Thursday night against Smithton Middle School. Unfortunately the scoreboard didn't reflect how hard the young men and women played. Development wise, the B team displayed great unity and resiliency as a team and finished the night strong. Mikyron Williams had a rushing touchdown for the Tigers. Teamwork has been instilled in these young student athletes since day one and they showcased this during their game.

Tigers Win: 32 - 6
The 8th grade Tigers football team traveled to Jefferson City and came back with a 32-6 win versus Lewis and Clark. Once again the Tigers displayed great teamwork and it was a whole team effort. Calvin Phillips had two receiving touchdowns thrown by Keyshawn Smith, and on the ground AJ Martin and Keshawn Toran each scored a touchdown. Collectively our defense shined at every position and continues to set the tone for our games. Next Thursday we have our home opener vs Smith Cotton.

Tigers Win: 8 - 6
The Waynesville 8th grade team traveled to Columbia and came back victorious against Lange Middle School.The game displayed a whole team effort where the defense only allowed one touchdown which occurred in the first quarter and shut them out for the duration of the game. John Eley returned a punt return for the only Tigers touchdown. They were successful on the two point conversion to make the score 8-6. These young men fought until the end and displayed great resiliency and determination. Next week the 8th grade team has a bye and on September 22nd they are back on the road traveling to Jefferson City.
