Tigers Lose: 26 - 28
The Rolla Bulldogs traveled to Slaughter Field Thursday 9/17 to take on the Tigers. The Tigers kicked off to the Bulldogs and early in the drive #17 Cunningham recovered a fumble and Waynesville took over. The offense led again by the "thunder and lightning" combination of #20 Goins and #5 Fielding-Chiles marched the ball down the field to take a 6-0 lead, failing to convert the 2pt conversion. The Bulldogs and Tigers traded touchdowns, with Rolla being the only team to capitalize on the point after attempts to go to overtime with a 22-18 lead. The Tigers got the ball to start the second half and put a quarter long drive together only to stall in Rolla territory with no points to show. Rolla scored again to go up 28-18. With a tough running game, and a passing game gathering rhythm, the Tigers punched in another touch down and converted the 2 to put the game at 28-26 Rolla. Eventually stopping Rolla on the ensuing drive with a fumble recovery in their own territory, the Tiger took over with just over 2 minutes on the clock and marched the ball 80 yards utilizing the run and pass only to fall 15 yards short of a miracle. The 7th B Tigers lost to Rolla 14-0.
The Tigers stay at home next week to take on Lewis&Clark of Jefferson City at 5:30pm 9/24.
