Tigers Win: 42 - 18
The 7th Football Tigers opened their home portion of the schedule with a win over the Thomas Jefferson Patriots by a score of 42-18.
The Tigers are reaping the benefits of an offensive line that is beginning to gel. Tackles Fau and Forshey, Guards Gaono and Smith, and Center William are becoming more and more consistent opening holes for the running and passing games. The first score of the game was a 30yd TD for Bradford set up by a sweep 25yd for Horry. An 8yd scamper by Sumter set up the Tigers second TD on a read by Vernon. The third score of the night was on an interception returned for a TD. With a score of 20-0 after half, the Tigers got the ball and on their first play Vernon connected with Horry for a beautiful 58yd TD only to be outdone by the incredible pancake block by wide receiver Jonathan McDaniel. Mujahid had another great wide receiver stalk block to break #18 for a long TD run.
The 7th Tigers sit at 3-0 with the remainder of their schedule only getting more difficult. Up to the task, the Tigers will play the Lebanon YellowJackets at home on Thursday Oct. 5 at 5:30pm.

Tigers Win: 28 - 22
The 7th grade Tigers travelled to Jeff City to take on the Lewis & Clark Middle School Trailblazers Thursday night and came away with two wins.
The "A" team was in an absolute dogfight all game long and found themselves trailing 14-22 on their own 30 yard line with 1:57 left in the game. The Tigers managed to stay calm behind their tough O-line of Fau, Gaono, Williams, Smith, and Forshey and mounted a quick paced drive that culminated with a 35 yard touchdown run by Evander Bradford to put the score at 20-22. Bradford also pounded in the all important 2 point conversion to tie the game 22-22 with less than 30 seconds to go. The Lewis & Clark team decided to go for the win by trying several passes downfield with no success. On the game's final play they tried once too often. The Trailblazer quarterback was under heavy pressure as he attempted to lob a long pass to his receiver but it was intercepted at the 50 yard line by Marcus Coleman. Coleman sprinted the 50 yards for the game winning touchdown as time expired. Final score: Tigers 28, Trailblazers 22.
The "B" team continued their success by taking an early lead on their opening possession and never looked back. Led by Chase Thomas-Plummer at quarterback and Clarke at running back the "B" Tigers rolled the "B" Trailblazers 24-6.
Both 7th grade squads are currently 2-0 and play their first home game next Thursday (9/28) at Slaughter Field at 4:30pm.
