Boys 7th Grade Football vs. Camdenton Middle School

Tigers Win: 12 - 6
Waynesville 7th Football is UNDEFEATED!  The Tigers travelled to Camdenton last night for their final game of the season and beat the Lakers 12-6. The Tiger A-team defense was the dependable force it had been all season keeping its shutout season alive with the only Camdenton score coming on a blocked punt. The Lakers' running game deserves a lot of respect as they pounded the football, but the Tiger front six of McFarland, Esguerra, Coleman, Dixon, King and Moore were up to the challenge holding Camdenton out of the end zone the entire game. Offensively, Issiaah Smith threw for one touchdown to Xzavia McArthur and ran for another. The Waynesville coaches are extremely proud of the players for rising to the occasion as the game tightened late to secure the victory.  The B team lost 18-22, but the argument could be made that they have improved the most. The 7th Tiger program thanks the parents for all of the support this season and extends an open invitation when we recognize the boys with our 2016 UNDEFEATED banner!

Tigers Win: 34 - 0
The Waynesville 7th grade football team improved to 4-0 on the season by defeating the visiting Lebanon Yellow Jackets 34-0 last night.  The game began as a defensive struggle with both teams having difficulty moving the ball on offense.  Finally, Tiger running back Tristan Martin got loose on a long touchdown run to put Waynesville up 6-0.  The Yellow Jackets answered that score with a long drive but ultimately turned the ball over on a fumble.  The Tigers took advantage of that mistake with a long, methodical drive capped by a touchdown run by Emmanuel Dixon.  The Tiger defense then forced Lebanon to punt on their next series.  Following that punt, it only took the Tigers one play to put up another touchdown when Xavia McArthur caught a short pass and turned it into a dazzling 50 yard touchdown.  Waynesville went into the half with a 22-0 lead.  In the second half, they added to that lead with a tough ground and pound running game with  touchdown runs by Dixon and Martaveous Robinson.  The Tiger defense stayed stingy all night and didn't allow a Yellow Jacket score.   In the "B" game, Lebanon redeemed themselves with a 28-6 win.  The Tiger defense struggled to contain the Yellow Jacket running game all night.  The Tiger offense was highlighted by tough runs by Bryce Pearson and a long touchdown run by Tiger quarterback Blake Heisinger.    Waynesville will conclude it's season next Thursday night (10/13) at Camdenton.

Tigers Win: 26 - 0
The 7th Grade Waynesville Football Team traveled to Thomas Jefferson Middle School on Thursday, September, 29th and won 26-0. Teronn Watson ran for 3 touchdowns on the offensive side of the football as he and fellow running backs Tristan Martin and Emmanuel Dixon pounded the football. The defense was hitting on all cylinders holding the Patriots to under 50 yards of total offense and no points.  Defensive ends, Creighton King and Anthony Esguerra along with outside linebackers John Moore and Aiden McFarland, kept the Thomas Jefferson offensive pinned to the inside, as the rest of the defense swarmed the ball. Defensive tackle Alex Leuthan finished with a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. Nose tackle Emmanuel Dixon finished with 2 sacks and 5 tackles behind the line. Cornerbacks Xzavia McArthur and Darryl-Rose Westbrook each had an interception with Westbrook returning his interception for a touchdown.   The B team played a 6-6 tie, in a game shortened by lack of daylight. The B team is improving each week and looks to post their first victory of the season as both A and B teams host the Lebanon Yellowjackets on Thursday, October 6.

Waynesville 7th football hosted Lewis and Clark on Thursday 9/22 and won 46-14.  The Tigers had two turnovers in the first half, but played with a determination that gave them a 16-6 halftime lead.  Lewis and Clark received the kick to start the second half and on their first play from scrimmage OLB John Moore intercepted a pass that set up Waynesville's third touchdown of the night.  Martavious Robinson scooped up three fumbles by the Trailblazers helping set up three more Tiger touchdowns.  Waynesville scored 6 total touchdowns by four different players.  Success running the football doesn't happen without great offensive lineman like #69Howell, #57Coleman, #50Corbett, #72King, and #56Hassel.  Waynesville 7th B team lost 14-30 highlighted by a 65 yard touchdown run by Blake Heisinger.

Tigers Win: 6 - 0
The 7th football opened their season last night versus the West Plains Zizzers.  Both teams struggled early to find positive yards with the score at 0-0 at the end of the first quarter.  Waynesville eventually punched in the only touchdown of the game in the second quarter with a 5 yard run by Terron Watson.  The tough Tiger defense lead by Creighton King held the Zizzers scoreless for the remainder of the game capped off by a game clinching interception by Xzavia McArthur.  The B team fought in a shortened game to a 6-6 tie.  Both teams played hard and look forward to their matchup next Thursday versus Lewis & Clark at 5:30pm.
