Girls Varsity Volleyball vs. Parkview High School

Tigers Win: 25 - 18
Tigers win in two sets against Parkview, 25-18, 25-22. Out strong on the offense, senior Ashton Pilz gained 7 kills for the night. Varsity Newcomer Freshman, Bella Sloas took away 3 kills in one set with zero errors on the offense, lending her a 1.00% hitting average. Defense leaders, Kelsey Arnold, Michelle Amato and Michela Bibb kept our court strong with 11 digs for Kelsey, 6 for Michelle and 5 for Michela. Tigers will be on the road to Stockton, for tournament play this Saturday and home to host Camdenton Tuesday, October 4th.

Tigers Lose: 24 - 26
Tigers lost in three against West Plains, 26-24, 11-25, 15-25. Started off strong in set one, Tigers gained an 8 point lead, giving tremendous momentum to take the set. Losing steam and mental focus, sets two and three carried a different tone for the Tigers. The young crew gets stronger and stronger throughout our season and improvements are hugely gaining for us. Top defensive player, Kelsey Arnold took 17 digs as Libero. Closely behind her was junior, Michela Bibb with an outstanding performance from middle back, keeping the ball alive for the Tigers countless times throughout the match. Senior Ashton Pilz gained 7 kills on the offense and lead the team in attacking%. Tigers will continue on the road next Thursday, September 22nd to Lebanon.

Tigers Win: 25 - 22
Tigers win in two, 25-23, 25-22. Big offense for the night with 22 kills for the team. Kill leader Sophomore Gracie Hutchinson pulled 6. Shortly under her was Junior Ashlyn Wardin with 5 and Ashton Pilz with 4. On the assist was Sophomore Victoria Perry with 18 for the night. Senior Kelsey Arnold set a huge defensive tone digging 15 followed by her defensive teammate Michelle Amato digging 10. Freshman Hannah Hedrick brought her first Varsity Kill to the court, aiding the team in a rotational bind. Tiger Volleyball hits the road Thursday, September 15th to West Plains. Freshman game starts at 4:30, with JV to follow and concluding with the Varsity match.

Tigers Win: 25 - 22
A win for the Tigers in 3 sets, 20-25, 25-20, 25-22. With 8 kills for Senior Ashton Pilz, 6 kills for Sophomore Gracie Hutchinson and 16 assists for junior Korban Reiter, improvement on the team's offense help lead the Tigers to be on top in the 3rd set. Senior Kelsey Arnold lead the defensive team with 12 digs. Following her, Sophomore Gracie Hutchinson, dug 7 and Junior Michela Bibb dug 5. The Tigers will face the Hillcrest Hornets in their first home game on Thursday, September 1st. All teams will play in the WHS main gym, with freshman beginning at 4:30, JV to follow at 5:30 and Varsity scheduled for 6:30. Let's Go Tigers!

Tigers Lose: 18 - 25
Waynesville loses to Marshfield in two sets, 18-25, 16-25. The Tigers started strong in the first set, yet made several rookie mistakes right from the start in set two. Team Leader, Kelsey Arnold showed up big by gaining 8 digs and remaining serve-receive leader with an average of 2.30 for passing. Ashton Pilz also led our court with 5 kills for the team and a 100% passing average. Junior Ashlyn Wardin played an excellent role with minimal unforced errors and gaining 3 kills for the evening. Junior Korban Reiter made her first Varsity appearance with 3 assists for the team. The Tigers will continue on the road to Sullivan next Tuesday, August 30th. Freshman and JV will play at 5:00, with Varsity to follow.

Tigers Lose: 13 - 25
Tigers lost in two sets to Helias, 11-25, 13-25. Former state champs to Helias lent a fast pace game difficult to overcome. Up and Coming Sophomores, Shelby Wardin and Gracie Hutchinson played big for the Tigers with two stuff blocks each. Supporting defense in the back-row was Senior leader, Kelsey Arnold with 6 digs. Tiger players improve with serving percentages with Ashlyn Wardin, Gracie Hutchinson and Victoria Perry all reaching 100%. Tigers remain on the road Thursday, August 25th to face Marshfield. Freshman and JV will play at 5:00pm, with the Varisy match to follow.

Tigers Lose: 19 - 25
Tigers play strong against the Falcons, yet fall in a two-set match loss. As a young squad, our Volleyball Tigers hold true promise for our 2016 season. Senior leaders Kelsey Arnold and Ashton Pilz lead the team daily to improvement within practice. Defensive player Michelle Amato led the defense court with 3.00 avg in passing with Arnold alongside carrying the team with 8 digs. Varsity Rookie Gracie Hutchinson led the offensive team with 6 kills for the night. Assisting her was Sophomore Setter Victoria Perry with 12 Assists and 2 kills. Junior Ashlyn Wardin set the tone for serving with a 100% average. The Tigers will travel Tuesday, August 23rd to face Hellias. Freshman/JV game time is set for 5:00pm, with the Varsity match to follow.
