Waynesville had Class 1 fourth-ranked Springfield Catholic on the ropes Wednesday evening, but couldn't hold on and lost a 6-4 soccer decision in Springfield. Waynesville had first half goals by Haley Reckard, Camia Blash, and Jessica Schellhase, but the Irish scored with about four minutes left for a 3-3 tie in the wild first half. Catholic scored twice early in the second half. Reckard added a second goal to keep it close, but the Tigers weren't able to find the net after that. The offensive tilt saw a total of 28 shots taken, with Catholic placing 11 on goal and Waynesville nine. The Lady Tigers finished the regular season with an eight and 16 record.
