Boys Varsity Tennis vs. Ozark Conference Tournament

The Tigers ended with a 4th place team finish at Conference on Tuesday, which was just 2 points short of 3rd place Joplin. In #1 Singles, Robert Osborn finished 4th place overall. After being seeded 4th, he took on Lebanon's Chad Howerton once again with a 8-2 victory. In the quarterfinal round, Robert met Micah Klousia from Glendale (2nd place at State last year). Robert played fantastic tennis in this match. Unfortunately, Micah held control of the match winning 8-0. Robert lost 6-8 in a close match against Kickapoo's Garrett Howard (who Robert had lost 5-8 to earlier in the season), taking 4th place overall.
In #2 Singles, Steven Berrios (our 6th Varsity player) also finished 4th in his bracket. After defeating Joe Blink from Joplin 8-0, Steven went on to beat Luke Walker from Rolla 8-3. Steven lost to #1 seeded Hayden Faulk from Glendale 0-8 in the quarterfinals, finishing in 4th with a loss to Lebanon's #2 Bennett Brown 4-8.
In #1 Doubles, Kyle Roberts and David Lund took 5th place. The Waynesville duo beat Lebanon's Malone/Uder team, 8-6. They then fell to #3 seeded Burton/Hadfield from Camdenton 4-8. In the consolation bracket, Roberts/Lund defeated Gill/Noakes from West Plains 6-2, and Parkview's Morris/Walker 6-2.
In #2 Doubles, partners Brian Fields and John Parker took 3rd place overall. After seeding 4th in their bracket, the Waynesville group beat Rolla's Allada/Huffam 8-1 before running into #1 seeded Glendale Young/Porter 2-8. In the 3rd place match, Fields/Parker beat #2 seeded Joplin's Crider/Hunter 8-6.
